Affinity Credit Union Offers Free Youth Savings Accounts in Celebration of National Credit Union Youth Month

April 4, 2022

April is National Credit Union Youth Month at Affinity Credit Union, and all month-long Affinity is celebrating youth.

This year’s theme is “Save Small. Dream Big. at your credit union,” which inspires youth to begin saving the money they earn so they can attain their dreams. In celebration, Affinity is depositing the first $5 in each new youth savings opened in April. As an added incentive, all new youth accounts will also be entered into a drawing to win a Nintendo Switch. Current youth members will automatically be entered to win a family four-pack of tickets to Adventureland Amusement Park.

“When it comes to financial education, it’s never too early to start. Adopting good habits at an early age can have a positive impact on the way a young person handles money down the road.” said, Jim Dean, CEO.

If you have been wondering how to empower your kids to save for their future, National Credit Union Youth Month is a great opportunity to start. Join us as credit unions across the country encourage youth to start saving regularly. This celebration is a great time to engage kids at Affinity Credit Union and within your community to help them learn that saving, no matter how small the amount, can help them achieve their dreams.

Affinity Credit Union has been serving the greater Des Moines and central Iowa region for over 70 years. Guided by our mission statement of “Building Better Lives”, Affinity serves the needs of over 14,000 member-owners. For more information, visit Affinity at www.affinitycuia.org or call 515-288-7225.
