Credit unions support Rep. Nunn for re-election with targeted mail, ads

As Rep. Zach Nunn, R-Iowa, faces re-election Nov. 5, he’s getting support from America’s Credit Unions, its PAC, and the Iowa Credit Union League in the form of direct mail and digital ads focused on credit union members.

“Partnering with our credit union Leagues to help form our support is critical to our mission of filling the halls of Congress with credit union champions like Rep. Nunn,” said America’s Credit Unions Head of Political Affairs Trey Hawkins. “We appreciate his consistent support for policies to increase credit union service to communities and look forward to continued work with him in the next Congress.”

Nunn meets directly with credit union leaders at credit unions in his district.  A member of the House Financial Services Committee, Nunn introduced his Community Development Financial Institutions Fund oversight bill earlier this year at a West Des Moines branch of Veridian Credit Union. He also visited the Iowa Credit Union League at its West Des Moines office over the summer recess.

“We are always happy to provide support to elected officials who support credit unions and their efforts to improve the financial lives of the Iowans they serve,” said Iowa Credit Union League President/CEO Murray Williams. “Congressman Nunn has been a champion in Congress on a number of key issues, such as reforms to improve the CDFI program and working to prohibit the sharing of consumers’ private information via mortgage trigger leads.  His service on the House Financial Services Committee and consistent willingness to get our perspective on important issues to us is greatly appreciated.”

Nunn’s credit union support includes $451,000 in direct mail and digital ads to credit union members in his congressional district to boost his candidacy ahead of the Nov. 5 general election.
