Blue Shoe Box and BSB Financial Coach Program

June 21, 2022

Serve Credit Union is excited to announce the newest program to impact the lives of their youth members! The Blue Shoe Box program launched in 2020 with a bi-annual financial literacy box to any member ages 0-17. With several successful rounds under their belt, Serve Credit Union saw its first graduates in June 2022. In order to continue serving the graduates, the BSB Financial Coach Program was created! This program caters to the “what’s next” in the financial wellness journey of the graduating subscribers. These members will receive a completion certificate, a goals worksheet and access to the BSB Financial Program website where they will pick their financial coach to help take them on this journey as well as the Banzai Financial Wellness Center! All of the coaches are graduates of an extensive 18-hour Financial Coach training through the Iowa Credit Union Foundation as well as employees and members of Serve Credit Union. Here’s what they can expect from the meetings with their coach:

  • Discuss your Membership Goals worksheet- next steps
  • Go over your credit report (this will require pulling your credit)
  • Tips on starting/building credit
  • Understand Serve’s beneficial products and services
  • Introduction to Student Choice student loans and refinance
  • Explore the Financial Wellness Center
