Community 1st Credit Union Promotes Chelsie Madden to Regional Manager

September 17, 2024

Ottumwa, IA—Community 1st Credit Union is pleased to announce the promotion of Chelsie Madden to Regional Manager.  In her new role, Chelsie will oversee the credit union’s locations in Harlan, Avoca, Atlantic, and Shenandoah, effective September 16th, 2024

Madden resides in Avoca, Iowa, with her husband Chuck and their three children; Rylinn (12), Maelie (9), and Landon (3).  Chelsie enjoys spending her free time golfing, boating, reading, and tuning into true crime podcasts.  Chelsie grew up in Avoca and graduated from AHST in 2009, further pursuing her education at Buena Vista University, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership.

With 13 years of experience in the financial services industry, six of which have been dedicated to the credit union sector, Chelsie brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for service.  She is actively involved in her community, serving as a Rotarian with the Atlantic Rotary Club, a Trustee on the Avoca Public Library Board, and a committee member for several local initiatives, including the Avoca Main Street Economic Vitality Committee, Holidays on Main, and AHSTW Youth Softball.

A dedicated advocate for credit unions, Chelsie has been a Credit Union Advocacy Champion for six years.  She has participated in several legislative and regulatory conferences and has spoken with Iowa Legislators about issues important to credit unions and the communities they serve.  In 2024, she represented Iowa as a crasher and attended the Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington DC, where she had the opportunity to promote the credit union movement and its mission on a national level.

“I am excited to step into this new role and be a part of even more communities that C1st serves.  I have always valued the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people’, and I am eager to continue making a difference.” Said Chelsie Madden.

“"Chelsie has done an outstanding job leading our Atlantic branch over the past several years, contributing to significant growth in that market. I have no doubt she will bring the same commitment to enhancing our members’ financial well-being as she takes on the role of Regional Manager.” Says Senior Vice President of Retail Operations, Jaime Thomas.  “What excites me most is the positive impact Chelsie will have on our teams in each location. Her ability to connect with, coach, and develop talented staff will truly shine as they continue to deliver an exceptional experience to our members each day."
