Dupaco Recognized as a Bike Friendly Business by the League of American Bicyclists

October 4, 2024

Dubuque, IA – Dupaco Community Credit Union has been recognized as a Bike Friendly Business by the League of American Bicyclists. This designation highlights Dupaco’s commitment to promoting an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for bicycling and supporting the cycling community.

“We are thrilled to be recognized as a Bike Friendly Business,” said Joe Hearn, President and CEO of Dupaco. “At Dupaco, we work hard to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all our employees. Encouraging bicycling is one way we ensure everyone feels welcome, while also promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.”

The League of American Bicyclists’ Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) program recognizes employers for their efforts to encourage a more bicycle-friendly environment. Dupaco joins over 1,300 businesses across the country, and just 25 in Iowa, that have earned this designation, contributing to the League’s mission of building a more Bicycle Friendly America for everyone.

Dupaco has implemented several initiatives to support bicycling at its headquarters at the Dupaco Voices Building, including a bike share program, secure bike parking, repair stations, and shower facilities for its employees.

“We’re thrilled to recognize this round of new and renewing Bicycle Friendly Businesses that are not just supporting cycling but are actively weaving it into the fabric of their communities,” said Bill Nesper, executive director of the League of American Bicyclists. “When businesses invest in better biking, they invest in people—employees, customers, and community members alike.”
