October 16, 2024
DUBUQUE, Iowa— Dupaco Credit Union, in partnership with Key City Creative Center (KCCC), is now accepting applications for three six-month KCCC membership grants. These grants are intended for individuals eager to develop their skills or launch their startup business at the Dubuque makerspace.
Key City Creative Center is a dynamic makerspace offering a low-cost, spacious environment for members to build and collaborate on projects and ideas. The center provides equipment and classes in woodworking, welding, metalworking, 3-D printing, pottery and sewing. Membership includes 24/7 access to the center’s resources, enabling individuals to hone their skills, collaborate and find inspiration.
Through this partnership, Dupaco aims to empower individuals by providing resources to create, develop products, and connect with other local makers, artists and entrepreneurs, which could pave the way for new small business opportunities.
“Small business development and upskilling are community focus areas for Dupaco,” says Dupaco President and CEO Joe Hearn. “This partnership presents a great opportunity to provide invaluable resources to those who are considering starting a business or learning new skills. As a financial cooperative, Dupaco equips members with the tools and resources they may need to achieve their goals and create a life worth loving.”
As a credit union benefit, all Dupaco members receive a $10 discount off monthly KCCC membership fees.
Applicants for the membership grant must complete a short questionnaire, which is due by 5:00 p.m. CT Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024. Judging is based on the applicants’ desire to improve their skills and their plans for sustaining those skills.
