Inclusiv Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund Program: Prequalification Launch Webinar

November 7, 2024

Inclusiv has received a federal Clean Communities Investment Accelerator (CCIA) award to provide grants to credit unions to offer green lending programs that serve low-income and disadvantaged communities (LIDACs).

Clean energy lending is core to the credit union “people helping people” philosophy as many members face energy burden. Low-income and disadvantaged members are especially susceptible to fluctuating energy bills that can take an increasing portion of their paycheck and force them to choose between other necessities.

By helping these members with loans for energy efficiency updates, heat pumps to lessen the burden of natural gas cost fluctuations, or solar to help them save even more money, we can help members keep more of their hard-earned money in their pocket. Not only is this a mission-aligned opportunity, but it also creates new service offerings for credit unions.

As part of Inclusiv’s CCIA program, 300-400 credit unions will receive grants from Inclusiv over the next three to four years to help grow affordable green lending programs. Credit unions will be able to apply for grants ranging from $275,000 to $11 million to cover operating and capitalization costs for green lending programs, as long as 100% of the funds reach LIDACs.

Pre-qualification is the first step for credit unions interested in applying to Inclusiv’s CCIA grant program. The pre-qualification process for the program will be launched on November 19. The grant applications for this program will be open early 2025.

To provide more information about pre-qualification, Inclusiv is organizing two informative webinars to walk through the pre-qualification process, including how to complete and submit the form.

We encourage you to sign up for a pre-qualification webinar to learn more about leveraging this fund in Iowa.
