Veridian Credit Union Opens the First of Two New Branches Planned for Northeast Iowa Today

October 17, 2022

WATERLOO, Iowa (Oct. 17, 2022) – Today is opening day for the first of two new Veridian Credit Union branches planned for northeast Iowa. The credit union’s new Kimball branch is now open at 102 Tower Park Dr. in Waterloo. It’s located across the street from the former Martin Plaza branch at 57 E. Tower Park Dr., which closed permanently on Saturday, Oct. 15. All 16 Veridian employees who worked at the former branch have transitioned to the new location.

Veridian will also break ground later this month at the site of another new branch expected to open in 2023 at 1050 Brandilynn Blvd. in Cedar Falls.

“While we’re growing the list of products and services available in online and mobile banking, we also know that our members want the option to walk into a branch and talk face-to-face about their finances,” said Veridian president and CEO Renee Christoffer. “We’ll continue investing in both digital platforms and our branch network to make sure we’re accessible in every way members want to interact with us.”

Both new branches offer four drive-up lanes, including one for an ATM, and enclose 3,422 square feet with access to tellers, coin machines and consumer lenders. Video calls for other needs are also available at both new branches as well as through online and mobile banking.

Veridian Credit Union, founded in 1934 in Waterloo, Iowa, is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by its members. The credit union offers a full range of business and consumer financial services with more than 900 employees and 30 branches across Iowa and eastern Nebraska, including 11 in and around the Cedar Valley.
