Corda Credit Union Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for North Liberty Branch

October 31, 2024

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA, October 29, 2024 – Community leaders and Corda Credit Union employees gathered today for the credit union’s ceremony to celebrate the groundbreaking for its new North Liberty branch.
“Today is more than just the beginning of a construction project — it signifies our commitment to this vibrant and growing community,” said Paula O’Rourke, President and CEO of Corda Credit Union during the ceremony’s opening remarks. “North Liberty is full of potential and possesses a spirit of cooperation and optimism that resonates deeply with Corda’s values.”

Slated to open in late 2025, the 5,046 square-foot branch will be located in Solomon’s Landing on the north side of West Penn Street, west of North Jones Boulevard. Designed by Solum Lang Architects, LLC, of Cedar Rapids, the North Liberty expansion is Corda Credit Union’s first location outside of Linn County.

Corda Credit Union currently has three branches in Cedar Rapids and one in Marion. The financial cooperative has been growing steadily over the years, ending 2023 with nearly $670 million in total assets, an increase of 8% from 2022’s year-end total of $620 million in assets. Ranked by Forbes in 2024 as the fourth best credit union in Iowa, the credit union has nearly 26,000 members.

“We’re excited to work together to make North Liberty an exceptional place to live, work and thrive,” said O’Rourke. “At Corda, it starts with heart, and we are proud to keep that at the center of who we are for generations to come.”
