Dupaco Awards Local Creators with Key City Creative Center Membership Grants
January 15, 2025
DUBUQUE, Iowa— Through a partnership with Key City Creative Center (KCCC), Dupaco Credit Union is empowering three community members by providing resources to create, develop products and connect with other local makers, artists and entrepreneurs, potentially paving the way for small business opportunities.
Dupaco has awarded three individuals with 6-month memberships to KCCC to develop their skills and training. Nikki Muchow, John Coyle and Sam Fenstermacher were selected to receive the memberships.
Key City Creative Center is a dynamic makerspace offering a low-cost, spacious environment for members to build and collaborate on projects and ideas. The center provides equipment and classes in woodworking, welding, metalworking, 3-D printing, pottery and sewing. Membership includes 24/7 access to the center’s resources, enabling individuals to hone their skills, collaborate and find inspiration.
“By providing these membership grants, we are not only investing in the individual growth of Nikki, John, and Sam but also fostering a community of innovation and collaboration,” said Dupaco President and CEO Joe Hearn. “These grants will enable them to access state-of-the-art resources, receive expert guidance, and connect with fellow creators, ultimately helping them turn their ideas into reality.”
As a credit union benefit, all Dupaco members receive a $10 discount off monthly KCCC membership fees.
Applicants completed a questionnaire to apply for the membership grant, and judging was based on the applicants’ desire to improve their skills and their plans for sustaining those skills.
