Newsweek names Veridian among America’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions

January 22, 2024

WATERLOO, Iowa (January 19, 2024) – Newsweek recently released a list of America’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions for 2024, recognizing Veridian Credit Union with five stars on a five-star scale. The list is based on an analysis of 9,440 financial institutions across the U.S. to identify the best 250 regional banks and 250 credit unions. To keep the focus on regional financial institutions, only institutions operating in less than 15 states were considered.

Conducted with Plant-A Insights Group, the study considered 35,000 customer interviews and more than 149 million online reviews. It also heavily weights factors indicating each institution’s financial health, operational performance and metrics indicating long-term stability.

“Above all else, consumers need to know that their financial partner maintains unquestionable financial security,” said Veridian’s Chief Experience Officer Mark Koppedryer. “To be recognized by a program that prioritizes a focus on financial stability and consumer experience is the highest honor we could receive.”

Veridian Credit Union, founded in 1934 in Waterloo, Iowa, is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by its 333,000 members. The credit union offers a full range of business and consumer financial services with more than 1,000 employees and 32 branches across Iowa, eastern Nebraska and the Twin Cities metro area.
