Citizens Community Credit Union Welcomes Back Stephen Hindman

Stephen HindmanFORT DODGE, Iowa – Citizens Community Credit Union is pleased to announce the hiring of Stephen Hindman as Executive Vice President/Chief Operating and Financial Officer. In his new role, Hindman will oversee the Lending, Branch Operations and Accounting/Finance Departments. Hindman has more than a decade of experience in various roles in the credit union industry. For the past four years, he has served as Chief Financial Officer at MEMBERS1st Community Credit Union in Marshalltown. He also previously served as a Senior Examiner for the Iowa Division of Credit Unions. In addition, he worked in various departments at Citizens from 2008 to 2013, including Member Solutions, Indirect Lending, Member Services and also served as the Assistant Branch Manager for our Hy-Vee office.

“Stephen’s background, specifically in the credit union industry, covers a wide range of experience, which is extremely hard to find. He brings a unique combination of strategic, analytical, financial and operational skills to our team, which will undoubtedly prove valuable to our members and employees for years to come,” CEO Dan Scott shared in a statement. “On top of his career accomplishments, he’s a Fort Dodge native and there is no better compliment to an organization, or a community, than when you can bring great people home. Hindman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance from the University of Iowa Tippie School of Business. He has also successfully completed the first two years of a three-year Credit Union Management School through the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). He will look to graduate from that program in 2024 and receive the designation of Certified Credit Union Executive (CCUE).

Stephen and his wife Brittney, both natives of Fort Dodge and alumni of Fort Dodge Senior High, will be relocating back to Fort Dodge from Ankeny along with their son, Owen.
